Ocelot

Overview

PESA’s Ocelot modular routing switcher family offers a wide range of small matrix routers for virtually any application. Every Ocelot is built using modules with self-contained I/O connectors and matrix boards for a specific signal type and matrix size. These modules, in various quantities, are installed in a standard 1RU rack frame that supplies power and control functions to each module. Each Ocelot rack frame provides seven module slots on the rear panel. Six are available for matrix modules and the seventh is always used for a power and control module. The modular approach allows Ocelot routers to be configured in a wide variety of signal format and matrix size combinations.

Video modules are available for standard analog, wideband analog, SD-SDI digital, and SD/HD/3G-SDI signals from 143Mbps to 3Gbps . Audio modules are available for analog sources, balanced or unbalanced, configured for monaural, stereo or multi-level audio. Modules for digital AES/EBU audio are available with input impedance of either 75 Ohm or 110 Ohm. Both video and audio modules can be mixed within the same frame.

Ocelot offers a wide choice of control options as well. The internal controller supports independent levels of control, up to sixteen control panels, and a control port for RS-232/RS-422 for third party control applications. PC control is possible using PESA’s Windows® based Virtual Panel Software. A local control panel can be attached to any Ocelot chassis frame for stand-alone operation, plus remote control panels are available allowing router control from virtually any operator position. The Ocelot can also be interfaced to the PESA Router Control (PRC) protocol bus. Using PRC, any Ocelot system can be seamlessly added to other PESA routers in the facility, and controlled as part of the entire system configuration.

Configurations

Ocelot AES Audio: 8x8 | 16x16

The Ocelot AES/EBU Audio Router provides exceptional switching characteristics for either 75Ohm coaxial or 110 balanced detachable connectors. Up to three 8×8 or one 16×16 AES/EBU module can be installed within 1RU. The Ocelot AES/EBU router is ideal for broadcasters and audio post-production facilities.

Ocelot Analog Audio: 8x8 | 16x16

The Ocelot Analog Audio Routing switcher allows switching of standard audio signals. Each matrix can be configured as mono, stereo, or multi-channel audio. It allows easy hook up for both balanced or unbalanced audio signals using industry standard detachable plugs.

Ocelot Analog Video: 8x8 | 16x16

Ocelot’s analog video router switches standard composite NTSC, PAL and analog component video signals up to 160MHz. Offered in both 8×8 and 16×16, the Ocelot frame can be supplied with a blank front panel or with a built-in X/Y push-button panel. This model is perfect for small analog video routers used in production and broadcast facilities as well as small boardrooms and auditorium applications. Integrators will find the Ocelot an easy-to-configure router. The Ocelot analog video router can also accomodate coaxial AES signals when synchronous switching is not required.

Ocelot Serial Digital: 8x8 | 16x16

Ocelot is perfect for serial digital format routing for small digital studios such as small post-production houses, mobile vans, or by-pass switching for master control. The Ocelot SDI Router comes in both 8×8 or 16×16 and can be fitted with either a local panel or up to 16 remote panels can be connected.

Ocelot 3G-SDI: 16x8 | 16x16

PESA’s Ocelot-3 is a one rack unit, 16×8 or 16×16, video router which supports all SMPTE standard data rates from 143Mbps to 3Gbps with auto-equalization on all sixteen standard 75 Ohm input BNCs. Auto-rate sensing and auto-reclocking is standard on all sixteen 75 Ohm output BNCs with full support for DVB-ASI on every path. A single standard 75 Ohm BNC reference input is provided, capable of accepting analog black burst or analog composite sync in NTSC or PAL formats. The Ocelot-3 can be equipped with single or dual power supplies and is compatible with all existing Ocelot control panels and PESA control systems.
