The PESA PRO-HDMI-CAT-PLG HDMI over Single CATx Direct Plug-in Extender extends your HDMI video/audio transmission distance up to 25m (80ft) in HDTV 1080i format. With a simple direct-plug adapter, the CATx to HDMI plug in device connects to any HDMI input connection. With a single CATx cable, you can now create an extended reach from your HDMI source (Blu-ray, PS3, PC, or other type of HDMI device).

The cost-effective flexibility of CATx cabling allows HDCP compliant units to transmit high quality video and audio with a greater distance – and at minimal cost. The PRO-HDMI-CAT-PLG includes two units: transmitting (TX) and receiving (RX) units. The transmitting unit is used to capture the input HDMI/DVI signals and carry the signals through one RJ-45 connector into one cost effective CAT-5/5e/6 LAN cable. The transmission distance between the sending and receiving units can be up to 25m (80ft) under HD (720p/1080i) or 15m (50ft) under Full HD (1080p). With direct plug-in to the HDTV, users do need to have to find a power outlet for the traditional HDMI over CAT5 receiver and can save an HDMI cable with ease of use.

The PESA PRO-HDMI-CAT is a low-cost extender set (TX/RX) allowing you to extend your HDMI video long distances over a single CATx cable. Video/audio transmission distance up to 60m (200ft) in HDTV 1080i format, 40m (130ft) in HDTV 1080p format, or 20m (65ft) in HDTV 1080p with 36-bit color depth can be achieved with only one cost effective LAN cable. Users can readily extend HDTV sources from DVD players, Blu-ray Disc players, PS3, PC, and any other kind of sources compliant with TMDS to distant display monitors including HDMI/DVI enabled TV sets or LCD PC monitors.

With an 8-level equalization control knob on the receiving unit, users can adjust the equalization strength to the received TMDS signals accordingly, and therefore optimize the transmission distance between source and destination.

PESA’s PRO-HDMI2HD is a throw-down style converter module allowing HDMI in 480p, 720p, or 1080p to SD-SDI, HD-SDI, or 3G-SDI video signals to be viewed or recorded to a professional broadcast device supporting SMPTE 259, 292, or 424. The supplied power brick accepts a primary power input of 100-240V, 50/60Hz, and supplies a +5V DC output. Power consumption is less than 3 watts. Each PRO-HDMI2HD module sends output signals through a standard 75 Ohm BNC connection. Destination devices can be located up to 300m (1000ft) for SD-SDI, up to 150m (500ft) for HD-SDI, and 90m (300ft) for 3G-SDI. The compact package comes with two mounting tabs for easy attachment to wall or under-the-table locations.

The PRO-HD2HDMI processes up to eight channels of audio, including 7.1-channel or 5.1-channel audio in addition to HDMI video. If your SDI source device supplies multiple channels of surround sound or Dolby® TrueHD audio, for example, the converter outputs the same number of channels for the HDMI connector’s pinning.
